Jazz Jam at The Nanaimo Bar

Our featured band will play a set of music to start the night and then start inviting guests up at 8:15

Host band:

Ethan Olynyk – Drums

Once the opening set is complete you can speak to one of the band members to sign up to play in the jam portion of the evening. Please have a few tunes to suggest when signing up. Once the jam begins the host band will let you know who’s playing. There will be a 2-3 at time song limit per person depending on how many participants there are.

Please be aware that this is not an “Open Mic” and we will be inviting those up to play who have a general working knowledge of common jazz repertoire. We encourage all students of the music to attend and to bring their instrument to play (see below for provided backline)

We will try to have everyone sit in but if you don’t get a chance this time please don’t be discouraged and enjoy the music and the hang.

Upright bass, keyboard, drums/cymbals, and microphone will be provided
